March 2023 Archive – What Happened at Chennai School of Music & Arts

Wondering what went on at our school in March 2023? This page pulls together all the posts, event recaps, and class updates from that month. If you missed a concert, a dance workshop, or a new art class, you can catch up right here.

Classes and Workshops You Might Have Missed

In March we rolled out two new beginner violin sessions, a weekend Bharatanatyam intensivet, and a watercolor painting series for teens. Each class was designed to fit busy schedules, with evening slots for working adults and weekend slots for students. The violin classes focused on basic fingering, bow control, and simple songs that let newbies play right away. Our Bharatanatyam workshop broke down the basic adavus (steps) and gave students a chance to perform a short piece at the end of the week. Meanwhile, the watercolor series taught color mixing, brush techniques, and how to capture light in a few easy steps.

Events and Performances

March was packed with live performances. On the 10th we hosted a small recital where piano and saxophone students showcased their mid‑term pieces. The audience gave a lot of applause, and many parents said they felt proud. Two weeks later, on the 24th, the school organized a community art walk. Local artists displayed paintings and sculptures around the campus, and visitors could chat with the creators. The event attracted over 150 people and raised funds for a music scholarship.

We also posted several blog updates during the month. One article shared tips on practicing a musical instrument at home without disturbing neighbors. Another talked about the health benefits of dancing regularly, citing real examples from our students. Both posts got lots of comments and were shared on social media.
