Eligibility for Courses at Chennai School of Music & Arts

Thinking about joining a music, dance, or visual‑arts class? You’re in the right place. At Chennai School of Music & Arts we keep the entry rules simple so anyone with a spark can walk through the door.

Age and Skill Levels

Our programs are split into three age brackets: Kids (4‑12), Teens (13‑18), and Adults (19+). Within each bracket we offer Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced tracks. If you’re just picking up a guitar for the first time, the Beginner Kids or Beginner Adult class is the right fit. If you’ve been dancing Bharatanatyam for years and want to polish technique, you’ll likely land in the Intermediate or Advanced teen group.

There’s no hard test for the beginner levels – just a short chat with the faculty to gauge interest and basic rhythm. For Intermediate and Advanced tracks we ask for a brief audition or a video clip. It’s not a competition; it’s just a way for teachers to place you where you’ll grow best.

Document Checklist

Getting started is a matter of a few papers:

  • Completed application form (available online or at the front desk)
  • Proof of age – birth certificate, school ID, or passport
  • For adults, a copy of a government‑issued ID
  • Recent photo (passport size)
  • If you’re applying for a scholarship, an income statement or letter from employer

All documents can be scanned and emailed, or you can drop a hard copy at our office. We process them within two business days.

Special Cases & Scholarships

We welcome students with disabilities and offer tailored classes where needed. Just let us know during registration so we can arrange the right support.

Merit‑based scholarships are available for talented beginners who show promise during the audition. Need financial help? We also run need‑based assistance for families that meet income criteria. The application is simple: a short essay about why you want to study the arts and a family income declaration.

How to Apply

Step 1: Pick your program on our website and click “Apply Now.”
Step 2: Fill out the form and upload the required documents.
Step 3: Pay the nominal application fee (₹500) – this is refundable if you’re accepted into the scholarship program.
Step 4: Await a confirmation email. If you’re in an audition track, we’ll schedule a 15‑minute online slot.

Once you get the acceptance email, you’ll have ten days to confirm your seat by paying the first installment. After that, you’re all set to start your first class!

What Happens Next?

Our faculty will reach out with a welcome pack that includes the class schedule, teacher bios, and a list of required supplies (like a violin bow, dance shoes, or sketchbook). We also run a free orientation session so you can meet fellow students and get a feel for the studio vibe.

That’s it – no hidden hurdles, just a clear path to start learning. If any part of the process feels confusing, our admin team is just a call or email away. Ready to unleash your creativity? Join us today and see how far your talent can go.
