Celebrate Holi with Music, Dance & Art at Chennai School of Music & Arts

Holi is more than just throwing colors – it’s a burst of sound, movement, and creativity. At Chennai School of Music & Arts we blend the festival’s energy with our passion for performing arts, giving students and families a fun, safe way to enjoy the day.

Our Holi program kicks off at 10 am with a short welcome session. We explain the safety rules, hand out eco‑friendly colors, and set the vibe with live drumming. The rhythm instantly gets people moving, and you’ll hear laughter and clapping even before the first splash of color.

Music Workshops: Beat the Colors

From classical Indian ragas to upbeat Bollywood hits, our music faculty runs mini‑workshops that let participants pick up an instrument or sing along. Beginners try a tambourine or a simple keyboard, while seasoned students join a group for a quick tabla lesson. The idea is to keep the beats flowing as the colors fly, creating a soundtrack that feels unique to our campus.

We also host a “Color Jam” where everyone can bring a simple instrument – shakers, whistles, even a kitchen spoon – and join a spontaneous jam session. No formal training needed, just a willingness to make noise and have fun. The result is a lively soundscape that captures the spirit of Holi.

Dance & Art Sessions: Move, Paint, Play

Dance lovers can sign up for a short Bollywood fusion class. Our instructors break down iconic moves, add a few folk steps, and then let the group dance together while colors drift around. The routine ends with a group pose, perfect for a photo that shows everyone drenched in color and smiles.

For the creative crowd, we set up an open‑air art corner. Kids and adults alike can paint rangoli designs on large boards using vibrant powders. The activity is guided but leaves plenty of room for personal flair. We also have a face‑painting station where artists turn faces into temporary canvases of flowers, suns, or abstract patterns.

All activities are designed to be inclusive – no prior experience required. If you’re a beginner, the staff will help you get comfortable. If you’re more experienced, you can explore advanced techniques or even help teach a younger participant.

When the day winds down, we gather for a community potluck. Everyone brings a dish, shares stories, and enjoys a final burst of music. It’s a great way to wrap up the festivities and build friendships that last beyond the festival.

Safety is a top priority. We use only natural, skin‑friendly colors, provide water stations, and have first‑aid kits on hand. Parents can relax knowing their kids are in a supervised, supportive environment.

Ready to add a musical twist to your Holi? Register online or stop by the school office. Spots fill quickly, especially for the dance and art workshops, so book early. Whether you’re 5 or 55, there’s a place for you at our Holi celebration.

Join us, play some music, splash some color, and make memories that will stay bright long after the powders are washed away.
